A Reminder About Life

I need to remind myself of this often, and because of that I thought I would just write it out so it really sinks in for me, and hopefully helps you too.

Everything is temporary. Literally EVERYTHING.

No matter what is going on in your life at any given moment, it's changing. Life is not stagnant. It moves along every second. So whatever you may be experiencing that is not something you want in your life, take a moment to take a deep breath and REALLY let it sink in that it is temporary.

Life is constantly moving toward resolutions. Constantly adjusting to bring in better and better circumstances. Constantly shifting and changing.

We have different choices to make a million times every day. We have the opportunity to think different thoughts. To actually CHOOSE better actions and ways of thinking.

This shit works, believe me! And I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record here but AWARENESS is key.

I guess I'll just keeping saying it until everyone tells me to shut the fuck up because they get it already!

When you are really AWARE of you choices in action, reaction, and thought you can make changes. Life actually does become less stressful. You CAN Create Balance. But you have to slow down a little.

If you are in a constant state of frenzy and chaos you can't be AWARE. You are on auto-pilot, just going through the motions of every day life. Nothing gets done that way, not really. Not meaningfully.

Perspective comes with stillness.

When you are still you become calm.

When you are calm you gain clarity.

With clarity comes ah-ha's.

With ah-ha's come ideas.

With ideas come dreams and goals.

With dreams and goals come plans.

With plans come action.

With action we get closer and closer to our dreams

until they are reached and new ones are set in motion.

Rinse and repeat.

It's brilliant really. Just slow down.

Sometimes you just need reminders to slow down. If you don't do it on your own, the Universe will surely do it for you. I know you get what I mean.

Bringing it back around to everything being temporary, when we slow down and get out of our heads and the chaos that lives there, we can get a better perspective of where things are going. Where we WANT things to go. And we can intentionally put the thoughts in play to take the actions to get us there. To CHANGE things for the better. To put the positive energy out there for the best outcomes.

Life throws us curve balls. It's expected right? But how you look at it and the perception you have of it changes everything.

My challenge to you is to slow down and honestly look at what you can control and what you can't. Take a look at your choices and the results of each of them. Think of your reactions and actions and how those benefit you - or not. Pay attention to who is affected by your emotions, actions and reactions. Sometimes you are the only one affected. How do you want to affect yourself? Positively or negatively? I know my answer!

I want to be calm, (mostly) positive and rational. I try to really pay attention to how my thoughts and reactions are affecting me. If I have no control over something what good does it do to get angry or upset about a situation? It doesn't affect anyone except myself. And if that effect is negative why the fuck would I want to do that to myself?! So I shift very quickly most of the time.

I encourage you to THINK and change everything.
