Why You Need A Kick-In-The-Ass

Not just you but freakin' everyone you know that is trying to achieve something. EVERYONE needs a kick-in-the-ass at one time or another. And if you are building a business you may need one more often that you think.

I think we all get a little excited during the final week of the year where we're thinking about all the shit we are going to accomplish in the New Year and how organized we will be. We buy the perfect planner that totally sings to us, we get different colored pens, we may even declutter our new sacred workspace.

We declare that this is the year we totally rock it and change everything! More free time, more money coming in, more travelling, the vision is gorgeous and exciting.

Then we find we are in the 3rd or 4th week of January and our sizzle has fizzled.

Now you start doing something you totally know you should NOT do. You compare yourself to other people around you, probably mostly the ones in your online circles. And that fucking Lack Demon pulls up a chair and starts settling in. You start thinking about lack of money, lack of time, lack of success, and then there are the IFs.

If I weren't a mom, if I wasn't solely responsible for the household income, if had a team to help me, etc, etc, etc.

The thing is we all start somewhere. Every "successful" person started with an idea and then took action to make it happen. We don't often see the hell they went through to get there, the doubts they had, the fears that showed up, we see the end result and compare ourselves to that. STOP IT!

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN HAPPINESS! And you CAN take the bull by the horns and get the momentum going again at any time you choose. But you have to choose it. The awesome thing is there are people out there (including yours truly) who LOVE to help people organize their thoughts, make their to-do list manageable, and hold them accountable for doing it!

Momentum is the key. And is it easy? NOPE! I'll totally call myself out on it. I'm guilty of procrastination and letting unfounded fears get in my head. You know where that gets you? Not where you want to be in the time you want it to happen I'll tell you that.

Sometimes you may even think that what you ARE doing is not getting you anywhere. I can relate to that too. As you may know, I adore Mike Dooley (that's me and Mike in the pic!) and if you aren't familiar with him you need to be. There are a few points he makes in his books that I often remind myself of. One of them is that you never know if what you are doing will get you where you want to go until you've gotten there. Not very comforting I know.

You could literally be a day away from your dream and you decide to quit. You just give up the momentum and poof! The dream doesn't come true. THAT IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART, YOUR DREAMS AND YOUR PASSIONS WITHOUT FAIL! Keep going and sending the Universe that message that you fucking mean business! And when you have achieved your dream you will see that every step, every detour, every contact you made, was the exact perfect move to get you where you wanted to be.

Another thing Mike says is that it doesn't go any good to put the destination into your GPS if you don't put the car in drive and step on the gas. I really like this one! It makes total sense right?

I love doing The Inspire-view Series™. I'm so excited to be in my second year with it and expanding it to offer some free online workshops with my guests. At the end of last year I wasn't sure if I would continue with it. I cherish the connections I've made with the best women EVER, and I personally get pumped up by their inspiring stories. But I don't have any idea where it is going. I don't make money doing it. I just honestly believe that sharing stories and inspiration helps others to follow their dreams. And this creates a pass-it-on effect. Because then those people will inspire others and so on. Gives me chills just thinking about it!

MOMENTUM. That is what I thought about at the end of 2015. I committed myself to a year of inspiring interviews and I did it. Why on earth would I stop it now? I need to keep that momentum going because who knows where it will lead. My car is in drive and my foot is on the pedal!

That was an easy choice for me to make. Other things, not so easy. So I have help with those things that stretch me out of my comfort zone and make me want to procrastinate. Successful people don't get there on their own. Famous athletes have coaches to help them stretch their abilities to reach higher. Vocalists have coaches to help them train their voices so they are even better. And people have life and business coaches to help them create thriving businesses, build a life they dream of, and hold them accountable for taking the actions they need to take to get there. And most importantly, to kick them in the ass to keep the momentum going!

I personally LOVE to kick asses. Woohoo! So if your beginning-of-the year sizzle is starting to fizzle, you are finding yourself in a doubt slump because "everyone" around you is rocking it, and you are just feeling like you don't know what to do next, CONTACT ME! Let me help you regain traction, gain momentum, find alternatives, and get creative so you can really hit it out of the ballpark from here on out.
