"Be Who You Are and Say What You Feel..."

Inspired by a post by the awesomely inspirational Leonie Dawson (thanks to another super-inspirational woman, Maru Iabichela, for pointing it out to me). Motherhood. What an enormous all-encompasing vocation. The down and dirty parts of motherhood last only a few short years but holy shit does it feel like FOREVER! To be perfectly honest with you, I didn't necessarily want to have children. At least not at the time that I was planning my life in college. I wanted a career. Kids weren't really my thing even as a teenager. I babysitted and the kids loved me! Not sure why. I'm the oldest of all my cousins by at least 5 years and those I was closest to loved to be around me. Not sure why. I

Who Chooses Who?

Yesterday I attended the annual Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Show. I look forward to this every year. Of course there is NOTHING like the first time when you attend these. This year I knew I would probably only be able to go one day so and I had to do it before I picked my son up from school. No pressure! What I really want to see there are the mineral specimens. I'm not as interested in the jewelry, beads or fossils. (Looking at the picture above I see a bit of a Halloween theme going on!) This year I had VANADINITE on my mind. I posted a gorgeous picture on Facebook back in June of a piece of vanadite in relation to a post about the New Moon. Since then I've been on the lookout. I s

I Saved Four Lives Today

I saved four lives today. Is this a sign? To be fair I wasn't alone, my boyfriend was there. So I've been asking for signs about my next phase. Solely a coach and energy healer (can I get a HELL YEAH!) or continue to build my business while getting another corporate job after my 9 year position ends in November? I know what I want to do, but how fast can I pull it all together so that it will support me and my two children? That's the scary part! So, I've been asking for signs. I have always wanted to see baby squirrels but never really have. I've seen their little faces in the hole of a tree before, that's about it. I'm taking vacation time this week (gotta use it or lose it) so my boyfrien

To Change or Not to Change

I woke up at 5 am today. It's Saturday so that's not cool. A lot of change is in the air this week and as I was lying in bed willing myself to go back to sleep a blog post started forming in my head. So, I got up, made a cup of coffee and lit my incense. One computer didn't want to turn on so I grabbed the other one and here I sit. I have a couple hours until I connect with a lovely, new but familiar friend in Brussels to record another interview for my video interview series, The Inspire-view Series. It is still dark outside and quiet in the house. I LOVE my quiet alone time! Yesterday was my nine year anniversary at my full-time job. On Tuesday I received my sixty-day notice that my

Trust & Security

I feel pretty confident saying that we all go through ups and downs in life. Events may happen that affect us, decisions or choices that we make have an impact on our lives. And yes, at times it is the actions and choices of others that affect us. But no matter what, it is how WE choose to react that makes all the difference in the world. Our own actions and reactions are the ones that actually affect us. (I'm not talking about extreme cases of abuse here.) This is a bit of a tricky thing to remember because we are often triggered into a spontaneous reaction. One that usually does not benefit us if the trigger is a negative one. As we grow and learn we become aware of many internal, self-a
